Yes We Can!
Group Leaders touching base with their travel and
mission goals.
As the familiar song lyrics go: "to everything
(turn, turn, turn) there is a season". Maybe the new
challenge for group leaders is to know when to stop turning, dig your
heels into the ground and simply say, "Enough!" In
fact, the present state of our economy can serve as a catalyst for
group leaders and travelers to touch base with their travel and mission
goals. There are many exciting opportunities that are revealed
when change is in the air, and the spirit of Yes We Can, can create a win-win environment.
Our group leader clients are usually quite adept at defining their
mission. This is why they are so much fun to serve! And
when it seems that external forces are making it harder and harder to
recruit travelers, that's when partnering with GTD/Accolades makes even
more sense. There are ways to stimulate excitement as you promote
your upcoming tour, even in these trying times. What can you say
when someone says, "It's just not the right year to be spending
money on travel?" One thing you can say is your tour is
custom-designed - truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that won't be
repeated next year.
Perhaps your numbers will be smaller for your next tour - turn this
into a positive as well: A smaller group means more time with the
guide, less time in lines; a more intimate experience in every
way. Also, the U.S. Dollar is stronger against the Euro and other
currencies - a real plus that will stretch your travelers' dollars.
For additional tour promotion ideas that work, join GTD/Accolades' LIVE
teleseminar where we will discuss "Tips &
Strategies for Promoting Your Next Tour" on Thursday,
February 19, 2009 at 10AM. To register, email jweiss@gtd.org with PROMOTION SEMINAR in the Subject
line.
So when is the right time to travel? The time is now: Yes
We Can organize, promote and recruit a wonderful group for our next
tour!

2010 - Destinations for the New Decade
What Travel Experts are Saying
Industry experts point to travelers looking for exotic
destinations in 2010, such as Morocco, Jordan, India, Australia and the South Pacific.
Additionally, because of pent up demand, we expect to also see
resurgence in "classic" destinations, such as: Britain, Scandinavia, France, Italy, and Ireland. These
countries will be revisited using unique, highly customized
itineraries.
In 2010, the once-in-a-decade Passion Play will again take place drawing travelers from around the
globe. We anticipate an increase in travel to Germany and European
countries surrounding Oberammergau, Germany, as a result of the Passion
Play's popularity.
We also see the growing trend of travelers traveling with a
purpose. Family travel, adventure travel, reunion groups, and
faith-based travel continue to rise in popularity.
A travel study found there are nearly 20 million
religious travelers in America. These travelers, more than
any other demographic, recognize the value in traveling as a
group. Not only is there dollar value, but there is enrichment
value in discovering friendships with fellow travelers who have the
same dedication and interests.
Religious destinations expected to be popular in 2010 include:
· Israel/Palestine
· Jordan
· Egypt
· Italy
· Germany
· Greece & Turkey
·
Mission-based tours to destinations, such as - India, Africa, Central & South America
Travelers in 2010 will also be more open to off-peak travel in order to take
advantage of special pricing and better airfares. Travel trends
and projections underscore the travel and tourism industry's
resiliency, and expect 2010 to be a boon for travelers ready to take
part.
